The Sexy Djinn Lounger

We just refinished this super sexy Djinn Chaise Lounge
shown below in its new home.

This chaise was originally designed by French industrial designer, Olivier Mourgue, for Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968).

The original–featured above–was upholstered in a stretch nylon. My client was lucky to come across this rare find. We wanted to use a another stretch fabric for the reupholstery to make sure to emphasize the curves of the silhouette.

More than 50 years after its creation, this chaise is still a boundary-pusher; it’s futuristic but chic, not gimmicky.
