I was thrilled for Double R Design to be featured in the Winter Issue of the interiors magazine, Business of Home. It’s a terrific article about the concept of circularity. When it comes to furniture, circularity means that we don’t throw old pieces away–we maintain, reuse, and refurbish. Circularity is the cornerstone of what we do at Double R Design.

The above photo is a dining room that we recently completed. Everything here was refinished: the table is a vintage Skovby  that we found online and refinished and we restored the Thonet dining chairs after finding them at the Brimfield Market. The rug belonged to our client; it was moth-eaten and old but somehow, after we had it cleaned, it just worked. The moth-eaten damage gave it a chic, distressed character.

Above is an image from Brimfield showing the Thonet chairs as I found them. They looked like they’d seen their day, but I knew we could update them to be perfect for my clients’ dining room.
